Richard Goodall Eyes Zac Efron for His Biopic as His Story Captivates Millions

America’s Got Talent‘s 2024 Winner Richard Goodall has already talked about how he’d like to play him in a biopic of his life. Goodall has already picked a former Disney Channel star to play him. Even the singer’s wife picked out the perfect actress to play her.

The Actor’s Got Quite A Background As A Singer

Goodall won the show’s one-million-dollar prize and is expected to make big changes in his life. Previously working as a janitor for an Indiana middle school, he’s already got his eyes set on a movie deal. In a statement with The U.S. Sun, he revealed he’d like singer and actor Zac Efron to play him in a possible biopic.

Much like Goodall, while he is now primarily known as an actor, Efron’s breakout role, playing Troy in the High School Musical movies, involved music. Interestingly enough, Efron’s singing was actually dubbed over in the first HSM film.

This was due to Efron being cast last and the music having been written for Drew Seely, who provided Troy’s singing voice. However, Efron went on to use his own singing voice in the sequels.

Since his Disney Channel days, Efron has become known for roles in a variety of films. Some have also showcased his singing talents, like Hairspray and The Greatest Showman.

Other films include 17 AgainNeighborsDirty Grandpa, and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. He’s also hosted the Netflix travel show Down to Earth with Zac Efron.

Richard Goodall’s Wife Has Even Picked Out Who Should Play Her

Goodall added that “[Efron] probably have to put on a little weight, though it sounds like fun and I’m willing to take on anything.” Ultimately, he felt it would be “cool” to have the star play him.

Richard’s wife Angela even suggested an actress to play her: Demi Moore. According to the publication, she referred to Moore as a “bada**,” adding she’d be perfect to act out her and Richard’s love story.

According to the publication, Angela said that, “Richard’s life would be a magnificent film. The biggest thing? I just can’t put it out there for the world yet…It is just life that has not been kind.”

The publication also noted that Goodall’s hopes of getting a biopic come from emulating a few Britain’s Got Talent icons, like Paul Potts and Susan Boyle. Potts’ life was adapted in the film One Chance, in which he was played by James Corden. Boyle was the subject of two documentaries: Susan Boyle: An Unlikely Superstar and There’s Something About Susan.
