No microphones. No background music. Just magic — Sydnie Christmas stunned the audience with a raw, unplugged performance of “Starlight Express.” In a moment of stunning spontaneity, Sydnie Christmas silenced — and then ignited — the audience with an unamplified performance of “Starlight Express.” Hitting soaring high notes with ease and without any sound equipment, she proved once again that her voice doesn’t need any stage tricks to shine. The RAW emotion, the clarity, the control — it wasn’t just a voice, it was a story told in its purest form. Onlookers called it “a master class in live performance” and “proof that she was destined for greatness.” In that moment, Sydnie didn’t just perform — she owned the room.

Sydnie Christmas Releases Stunning Official Video for “Starlight Express” Ahead of Major UK Tour

Fresh off her Britain’s Got Talent 2024 victory, Sydnie Christmas is soaring to new heights with the release of her official music video for “Starlight Express”, a breathtaking rendition of the iconic song from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved musical of the same name. The single showcases the rich, emotional vocals that captivated the nation — and it marks a thrilling new chapter in the 28-year-old singer’s rising career.

What makes the release even more special is that the music video was filmed on the actual stage of Starlight Express at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in London, where the show is currently dazzling audiences in a brand-new, high-octane production directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet). The musical returned to London in June 2024 after years of anticipation, and Sydnie’s video captures the magic of that futuristic set, shimmering with lights and motion — all while her voice soars above it like a dream made real.

The idea for the single came directly from Andrew Lloyd Webber himself, who, after hearing Sydnie perform the song on Instagram, personally encouraged her to record it as a studio track. The legendary composer’s endorsement has added even more excitement to what was already one of the most talked-about post-BGT projects of the year.

In addition to the single, Sydnie is preparing to hit the road this autumn for her first major headline tour, titled Sydnie Christmas – My Way. The tour kicks off on 5 October 2024 in Gateshead, and includes 14 shows across the UK, with stops in London’s Aldwych Theatre on 20 October, as well as Canterbury, Portsmouth, Nottingham, Glasgow, Sheffield, Salford, Birmingham, Cambridge, Bath, Southend, Basingstoke, Oxford, and Liverpool. Each night will feature a carefully curated setlist of her most powerful performances and personally meaningful songs, including her spine-tingling versions of “Over The Rainbow,” “My Way,” and “Tomorrow,” all of which earned standing ovations on the Britain’s Got Talent stage.

Sydnie’s rise to fame has been nothing short of meteoric. During the BGT finale on 2 June 2024, her rendition of “Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz moved millions to tears, solidifying her place not just as a talent show winner, but as a once-in-a-generation voice.

With the support of theatre royalty like Andrew Lloyd Webber, a new single already going viral, and an ambitious UK tour ahead, Sydnie Christmas is proving that her victory was just the beginning. Whether she’s singing from a West End stage or commanding a concert hall, one thing is clear — Sydnie’s star is only beginning to rise.
