A night of tension and breathtaking performances saw Richard Goodall earn his spot on the AGT finale

On Thursday night, September 12, America’s Got Talent concluded with the semifinal round. The remaining 12 acts were waiting to find out if they had made it to the grand final the following week, based on the results of the viewer vote.

There were only six seats available because four performers had already advanced from the live event Golden Buzzers. The Spanish aerial couple Sebastián & Sonia, the dance ensemble Airfootworks, vocalist Dee Dee Simon, and the Hakuna Matata Acrobats are among those performing.

Twelve other performers, including middle school janitor Richard Goodall, who dazzled the judges at the auditions with an amazing rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” were left to the mercy of the public vote. On Wednesday, September 11, Goodall once again dazzled with an impassioned rendition of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”

For Goodall fans, it turned out to be an extremely dramatic and tense evening. Dance group Brent Street, comedian Learnmore Jonasi, quick-change artist Solange Kardinaly, dog act Roni Sagi & Rhythm, 10-year-old singer Pranysqa Mishra, aerialist Kelsey Jane, teenage singer Reid Wilson, magician Young-Min, Canadian singer Alex Sampson, and country trio Ashes & Arrows were among the other acts vying for a spot in the semi-finals.
