Pop superstar Katy Perry has officially been granted a permanent restraining order against a man who repeatedly showed up at her California home, raising alarms about her safety and that of those close to her.
According to court documents, the man — identified as Ross Elliott Hedrick — was first arrested in May after he arrived uninvited at Perry’s private residence. But despite being taken into custody, Hedrick returned to her property just days later, triggering renewed fears and prompting immediate legal action from Perry and her team.
During court proceedings, Perry’s security team submitted compelling and deeply concerning evidence. Doorbell camera footage showed Hedrick carrying what appeared to be a spray can and lighter — a chilling combination that suggested the potential for something far more dangerous. On his second visit, he reportedly threw a blanket over the property gate, behavior described as “unpredictable and escalating.”

In June, Perry filed for a restraining order not only for herself but also for her then-partner, actor Orlando Bloom. Though the couple has since separated, the court filing remained unchanged due to the continued security threat posed by Hedrick.
This week, a judge sided with Perry, formally acknowledging the severity of the risk. The court granted a permanent restraining order, meaning Hedrick is now legally prohibited from approaching Perry, her home, or any location she frequents.
While Katy Perry has not made a public statement regarding the incident, those close to her say she remains focused on her safety and well-being.
The case is a sobering reminder of the increasing risks public figures face in maintaining personal security — especially when stalker-like behavior turns from obsessive to potentially dangerous.
